Read, Deed, Run

Read, Deed, Run at Cimarron

Read, Deed, Run (RDR) is more than just a program—it’s a journey that builds strong minds, kind hearts, and healthy bodies. Over 26 weeks, students in grades 4–5 commit to a fun and rewarding challenge:

  • Read 26 books (or 2,600 pages)

  • Deed 26 good deeds in the community

  • Run 26.2 miles (a full marathon!)

Students complete their journey by running the final 1.2 miles together in a celebratory race at Legacy Stadium, where they cross the finish line to earn a Finisher’s medal and t-shirt.

Why Join RDR?

  • Grow as a reader – Explore new books at your level and track your progress.

  • Give back – Make a difference by helping others and building a spirit of service.

  • Stay active – Build endurance and confidence through weekly runs.

  • Celebrate success – Finish the year stronger, prouder, and part of a team!

Program Details

  • Reading Requirement: 26 books (or 2,600 pages). Books read at school count, and records are kept in each student’s RDR log.

  • Deed Requirement: 26 good deeds. One deed equals one hour of service. Opportunities will be shared throughout the year, but families may choose their own ways to serve.

  • Run Requirement: 25 miles completed during supervised Run Days, plus the final 1.2-mile race. Students should wear comfortable clothes and running shoes.

RDR encourages every student to set goals, persevere, and celebrate their accomplishments—all while having fun and making lifelong memories.
