Friendly Reminder for Car Rider Arrival and Dismissal
- Please do not drop your student off at school in the morning prior to 7:30 am. Our doors open at 7:30 am, and there is no supervision provided prior to that time frame.
- Remember that our school is a school zone. Please do not use your cell phone for any reason.
- Please do not exit your vehicle for any reason. We will load/unload your student into your vehicle, but we will not unbuckle or buckle their seatbelt. If your child needs assistance in buckling after they have been loaded, please pull forward into a parking space in order to assist your child.
- Your child should enter and exit the vehicle from the passenger side only. We do not allow students to exit or enter the vehicle from the driver side.
- Please follow the directions given to you from CE employees. We are here to help and we want to load and unload your student in the safest and quickest manner possible. Thank you for your patience and kindness with our amazing Cimarron staff!
- Please enter the car rider dismissal line by driving down Peek, turning onto Katy Passage Road, then following through the neighborhood by turning right onto Legend Spring then another right onto Cascade Creek. Please do not try to go down Cascade Creek and make a u-turn into the line in an open spot.
- Occasionally some of our parents find a gap in the line next to them while navigating the car rider line and decide to line jump in an effort to get ahead. We want to take the time to explain this does the exact opposite for you AND for all the parents who happen to be around you when you make the jump.
- One of our staff members walks the line and writes down all numbers. Then, all kids are assigned a specific set and number to stand on.
- Line jumpers think they are getting ahead but your number hasn't been written down, and your child will not be brought to you in a timely manner like the vehicles around you.
- This results in you having to pull to the front of the school to wait until after car rider dismissal is complete to wait for us to get your child to you. Skipping the line and jumping in sets you and everyone else back.

- Please do not block driveways in the neighborhood while waiting in the car rider line. Everyone is doing a great job of this and being respectful to our neighbors. We appreciate it!
- Please do not pull around other vehicles in the line unless specifically directed to do so by a CE staff member.
- Please arrive on time in our parent car rider line. We ask that you arrive in the car rider line in order to get your number taken by 2:45 pm. We stop taking numbers at around 3 pm. If your number is not taken, you will need to wait to enter the front parking lot until around 3:15 pm. You will then park and exit your vehicle and come to the front office to pick up your child. You must have your car rider number or a valid government ID, and you may need to complete the late pickup form.

According to Texas State Law, all children younger than 8 years old, unless taller than 4’9”, are required to be in the appropriate child safety seat system whenever they ride in a passenger vehicle. The safety seat system MUST be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. According to manufacturer’s instructions, the safety seat system should not be placed near an air bag. Also, if your child is unable to buckle his or her own seatbelt and need your assistance, please pull into a parking spot. This allows you to safely support your child while we keep our car rider line running smoothly.

Our safety patrol students will load all students into the backseat of cars in the car rider line. If your child is 8 years old or taller than 4’9” and you would like for them to sit in the front passenger seat, please pull over into a parking spot to have your child make this switch.
